METHOD

Step 1

Wash and peel the russet potatoes.

Step 2

Using a mandoline fitted with a wavy blade, slice the potatoes into 1/4 inch thick slices, then turn the potato 90 degrees and slice again to create the waffle shape.

Step 3

Rinse the sliced potatoes in cold water, then pat dry with paper towels.

Step 4

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Step 5

Carefully add a small batch of the potato slices into the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy.

Step 6

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fries from the oil, and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 7

Immediately sprinkle the hot fries with seasoned salt and paprika, tossing gently to evenly coat.

Step 8

Repeat the frying process with the remaining potato slices.

Step 9

Serve hot and enjoy your homemade Chick-fil-A style waffle fries!
