METHOD

Step 1

Start by boiling 4 eggs. Place them in a saucepan, cover with water, and boil for about 7-9 minutes.

Step 2

Once boiled, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool. Peel the shells once the eggs are cool enough to handle.

Step 3

Meanwhile, remove the casings from 1 lb of pork sausages and mix the sausage meat thoroughly.

Step 4

Divide the sausage meat into 4 equal portions. Take each portion and flatten it into a patty shape.

Step 5

Wrap each boiled egg with the sausage meat, ensuring the egg is completely covered.

Step 6

Place 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 beaten egg, and 1 cup of breadcrumbs in separate shallow bowls.

Step 7

Dredge each sausage-wrapped egg first in flour, then in beaten egg, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.

Step 8

Heat vegetable oil in a deep-fryer or deep pan to a temperature of 350°F (175°C).

Step 9

Fry the Scotch Eggs in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes.

Step 10

Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

Step 11

Let them cool slightly before serving, then enjoy your delicious homemade Scotch Eggs!
