METHOD

Step 1

Season the pork shoulder all over with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.

Step 2

Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker and pour about 1 cup of barbecue sauce over it.

Step 3

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Step 4

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred using two forks. Mix in about another cup of BBQ sauce or to taste.

Step 5

In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, and apple cider vinegar. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 6

Toast the hamburger buns lightly if desired.

Step 7

To assemble the sandwich, place a generous amount of pulled pork on the bottom half of each bun, top with coleslaw, and close with the top half of the bun.

Step 8

Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade pulled pork BBQ sandwiches!
