METHOD

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Thaw the puff pastry sheets according to package instructions.

Step 3

In a medium bowl, combine the chopped pecans, maple syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, and vanilla extract. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly coated.

Step 4

Roll out the puff pastry sheets and cut each sheet into four squares.

Step 5

Place a heaping tablespoon of the pecan filling in the center of each square.

Step 6

Fold each corner of the pastry square over the filling to the center to form a diamond shape. Pinch slightly to seal.

Step 7

Brush the tops of the pastries with beaten egg to give them a golden finish.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed up.

Step 9

Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly.

Step 10

For the glaze, mix powdered sugar with a small amount of milk to reach drizzling consistency. Drizzle over the cooling pastries.

Step 11

Enjoy your fresh Maple Pecan Danish warm from the oven!
