METHOD

Step 1

Toast the bread slices until golden brown and crispy.

Step 2

In a frying pan, melt a small amount of butter over medium heat.

Step 3

Crack the eggs into the pan, keeping them separate to cook as individual sunny-side-up eggs. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.

Step 4

While the eggs are cooking, heat the sliced ham in a separate small pan until warm.

Step 5

Once the eggs are cooked with set whites and runny yolks, remove from heat.

Step 6

Place a slice of ham on each piece of toasted bread. If using cheese, place a cheese slice over the ham.

Step 7

Carefully place a sunny-side-up egg on top of the ham (or cheese if used) on each piece of bread.

Step 8

Serve immediately with a side salad or fresh vegetables, if desired.
