METHOD

Step 1

Cook sushi rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, transfer the rice to a large bowl and let it cool slightly.

Step 2

Mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until dissolved, then gently fold it into the rice to season.

Step 3

Slice cucumber into thin strips and avocado into slices.

Step 4

Cut nori sheets in half for easier rolling.

Step 5

Lay one half of the nori sheet on a flat surface, shiny side down.

Step 6

Wet your hands and scoop a small portion of sushi rice onto the left-hand side of the nori sheet. Spread it evenly, leaving a gap at the top and bottom.

Step 7

Place slices of salmon, cucumber, and avocado diagonally across the rice, leaving room to roll.

Step 8

Add a dab of wasabi if desired, and sprinkle a pinch of sesame seeds for extra flavor.

Step 9

Carefully roll the nori into a cone shape, starting from the bottom left corner to the top right.

Step 10

Serve immediately with a drizzle of soy sauce and a side of pickled ginger. Enjoy!
